Do swimming wetsuits come with a warranty?

Yes, blueseventy wetsuits come with a warranty. Every wetsuit includes a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing and materials defects for the original owner. Technical race swimwear carries a six-week warranty. The remedy for a covered defect is repair.

This warranty is separate from the 30-day return and exchange window. If a suit arrives with a seam issue or a zipper defect, you can return or exchange it within 30 days of the ship date as long as it is clean, dry, unmodified, and still has tags and accessories. After that window, the warranty handles defects in how the suit was made. Damage from use, care, or accidents falls outside it.

What the warranty covers

The blueseventy warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials. That means a seam that separates along a glued or stitched panel, a zipper that fails at the attachment point, or a neoprene panel with a flaw that appears without impact or snagging. It does not cover normal wear and tear. Neoprene on race-focused suits is thin for flexibility, and all wetsuits flex, rub, and compress with use. That gradual change is not a defect.

The warranty applies to the original owner. If you buy secondhand, the warranty does not transfer.

What it does not cover

One common excluded damage is a fingernail puncture. When you pull on the suit, grab it with the pads of your fingers, not your nails. A fingernail caught on the slick outer jersey leaves a small hole that grows.

Other excluded damage includes:

  • Heel tears caused when a foot is forced through the leg opening
  • Zipper damage from force or fabric caught in the teeth
  • Heat and chlorine damage from improper rinsing, drying, or storage
  • Any non-swimming use such as surfing, scuba, or kayaking

The one exception is the Alliance SwimRun model, which is the only blueseventy suit warrantied for swimrun use.

Care habits that help

A few habits reduce wear and cut the chance of damage the warranty will not cover. Put the suit on slowly, using the pads of your fingers. Use a mat or towel to stand on when changing on rough ground, because concrete, gravel, or a pool deck wears the neoprene at the ankles and seat. Rinse the suit in cool fresh water after every swim, especially after chlorine, salt, or lake algae. Dry it in the shade or indoors, not in a hot car or direct sun. Do not use a washing machine, dryer, or iron.

These habits matter even more for thin race neoprene, like the Helix, because its lighter panels trade some durability for flexibility and buoyancy. If you want to size check before committing, blueseventy offers a Test Swim program. You can swim in the suit and still return or exchange it within the 30-day window if it comes back clean, dry, unmodified, and with tags and accessories. This catches a size issue before you are outside the return window.

How to make a warranty claim

Send an email to us@blueseventy.com with your model, size, and clear photos of the problem. The support team determines whether the issue is a manufacturing defect or damage the warranty does not cover. For a valid defect, blueseventy repairs the suit.

If you are outside the warranty period or the damage falls into an excluded category, Aquaseal neoprene cement, sold by blueseventy, repairs small tears. Clean the area, apply the cement according to the instructions, and let it cure fully before swimming. That repair is not part of the warranty, but it gives a well-fitting suit more useful life.

Warranty at a glance

All blueseventy wetsuits include a one-year limited warranty on manufacturing and materials defects for the original owner. Technical race swimwear carries a six-week warranty. The warranty covers defects in construction, not fingernail punctures, heel tears, zipper damage from force, heat or chlorine damage, normal wear, or non-swimming use. Rinse, dry in the shade, put the suit on with your finger pads, and contact us@blueseventy.com with photos for a claim.

Happy swimming.
