Heather Jackson (USA) won her 3rd consecutive Wildflower Triathlon this weekend. Wildflower is one of triathlon's most iconic, long-standing, demanding, down right intimidating events. This years event started with aswim venue change which required the athletes run 2 miles to T1. That distance was "counted" and discounted from the final run leg so that over the day athletes still totaled 70.3 miles total raced distance. Wildflower os a tough event and you become a celebrity to win this race once - Heather, you are a legend to win it 3x in a row!
Kyle Leto (USA) led the men out of the swim at Wildflower and Matthew Russell (USA) from the Timex Multisport team finished 3rd- great result for Matt in a very tough field!
Another female winner this weekend was Kate Bevilaqua (AUS). Kate won Ironman 70.3 Busselton in Australia.
Continuing on the blueseventy women's assault on race this weekend, Radka Vodickova (CZE) won Ironman 70.3 St Croix. Leanda Cave (GBR) was 3rd and on the mens side Greg Bennett (USA) was 4th with Richie Cunningham (AUS) Timex Team in 5th.
