Blueseventy Supports SheStrong Triathlon Team

SheStrong founder, Brandy Ramirez has a long history in endurance sport and the partnership will particularly benefit her and the team taking part at Ironman 70.3 Eagleman in Cambridge Maryland next month.

Arizona based Ramirez founded SheStrong after a breast cancer diagnosis. She realized that competing again would allow her to fight back and regain her own identity, and that creating SheStrong would benefit others through an invaluable network of likeminded women. SheStrong is now thriving with more than 3700 members globally and a USA Triathlon registered team.

Ramirez is a certified TriDot Coach, Ironman Coach, yoga and pilates instructor, and fitness enthusiast. She and other female cancer survivors and those in active treatment will be competing Ironman 70.3 Eagleman on June 13, 2021.

Ramirez said: "When I began my Ironman journey years ago, I never thought that I would have the chance to be recognized by a company such as Blueseventy, a company whose history is rooted deep in the sport. Of course, then, I was an average female, mother of four, and trained when I could find the time. This is still true; the only difference now is that I am a cancer survivor who found her passion.”

She added: “I created SheStrong as a means to reach other women diagnosed with cancer and let them know that cancer does not define us. I will not fall victim to my diagnosis, cancer did not break me, and I am looking forward to getting back on the race course in Cambridge Maryland and stoked to wear my new Blueseventy gear."

SheStrong encourages participation at all levels, including having organised a virtual 5km challenge during lockdown. The group fosters an environment where women can openly discuss disease, fitness goals, training, physical obstacles, emotional trials, and help each other to cross whatever finish line they are in pursuit of. Anyone keen to support this group can donate online via https://shestronginc.com/donate.

When we at Blueseventy heard about the team that Brandy had put together, we jumped at the opportunity to be part of it.
