Brownlee Receives UK Sport Award

10 Dec 2009

Alistair Brownlee was recognised for his exceptional year at the Sports Journalist Association (SJA) Annual Sports Awards lunch on Wednesday.  UK Sport Chair, Baroness Sue Campbell, said: “I am delighted to have presented Alistair with the UK Sport award at the SJA Sports Awards. He has had a tremendous 2009, culminating in that stunning win on the Gold Coast to clinch the world crown, and thoroughly deserves to be recognised for his achievements. He is one of our brightest prospects for 2012 and I wish him continued success.”  Exactly what we thought, but then we are a bit biased.  The award recognises his continued success over the course of the year, as well being an all round nice guy (with great taste in wetsuits).
