blueseventy was born out of New Zealand over 20 years ago - so why wouldn't our wetsuits be the choice of the best New Zealand swimmers and triathletes? This weekend the State Ocean Series Harbour Crossing swim took place in Auckland where the winners and most athletes swimming were donning their blueseventy wetty. Taranaki’s Charlotte Webby comfortably won the women's event with a half-minute lead by the finish.
Rotorua’s Kane Radford claimed the mens race by a few seconds- reportedly a battle from the start. This year marked fierce competition from both Olympic pool specialists and Australians coming over to try to nab the title. From Sportshub.com, "In all, almost 1700 swam in the Harbour Crossing today including several well-known names, with one being former All Blacks winger and now Blues rugby coach Sir John Kirwan. In other races around the globe- blueseventy athlete and 70.3 World Champion Melissa Hauschildt (AUS) won the 70.3 Mandurah Australian Championships.
Jennifer Spieldenner (USA) was first out of the water and 3rd overall at the Rev3 Finale event in Florida. Joe Umphenour (USA) of Timex Multisport Team was first out of the water at Ironman Arizona - one of the last North American triathlons of 2013.
